AI Policy

At MCM Comic Con, we believe in the power of authentic human creativity. Our show is built on originality and the unique perspectives that human creators can bring. That is why we are committed to supporting and showcasing the creative work of human artists, writers and designers. 

To uphold this commitment, we request that our Exhibitors and contributors ensure that all displayed and sold products are created through human skill and creativity. 

Products that include creative work that has been wholly or substantially generated using generative AI tools or algorithms —such as text-to-image tools, AI music composition tools, AI-assisted writing tools or code generation tools — are strictly prohibited (“Prohibited Products”). 

• Visual artwork, such as images, graphics, video content or animations, primarily created with AI image generators.
• Books, magazines, or comics where the writing or illustrations were produced using AI tools.
• AI-generated music or audio.
• AI-generated code sold as original software or tools.

For clarity, we do not wish to restrict the use by our Exhibitors and contributors of any tools that may assist with minor editing or production (such as spell checkers, image upscalers, basic photo filters and/or accessibility tools). Products that have been created using such tools are permitted provided that the core creative process remains human-driven. 

Any Exhibitors found in violation of this Policy may be asked to remove any Prohibited Products and/or may be disqualified from participation at MCM Comic Con.

We fully embrace and acknowledge the value of AI in a wide variety of contexts, including within our own business. However, when it comes to creative expression at MCM Comic Con, we choose to stand firmly with human creators. Thank you for respecting and supporting this standard.
