Speaker Manual

Dear MCM Speaker,

We’re excited that you will be joining us for MCM Comic Con 2023! Please use this manual as a guide for all the essential details that you’ll need to know for your panel at MCM.

STAFF CONTACT

The main point of contact ahead of and during your time at MCM will be:

Charlotte Napier, Content & Features Manager

There will also be a dedicated ReedPop staff member based in/near your area for the duration of the show (look for the person in the staff or crew t-shirt!) who will be able to deal with real-time issues. Please direct any questions, queries or concerns their way and they’ll be able to help or pass this onto the relevant party.

SPEAKER BADGES & PICKUP

If you have not already done so, please fill out this Speaker Badge form with a full list of names requiring badges as soon as possible. You will receive confirmation emails for badges the week of show with a QR code which you may present at the Query Desk (in the Queue Hall).

Speaker badges are designated by day according to your content activity only. For security purposes these are designated by name and are non-transferrable.

PANEL SCHEDULE

ReedPop will schedule your panel based on availability and needs of the show. Speakers may request specific days and times. All requests will be considered, but final scheduling will be at ReedPop’s sole discretion. Please be advised that panel schedules may change. Panel organisers will be notified of required schedule changes.

ARRIVAL & SETUP

Please arrive at your stage or area at least 10 minutes in advance of your scheduled start time. MCM Comic Con allots 15-30 minute breaks in between each Panel. As soon as the panel before yours has concluded, you may begin setting up for your own panel. If you require help setting up your laptop or with any tech, please let a Crew or Staff member know and we’ll be happy to get you the assistance that you require.

If you require help setting up your laptop or with any tech, please let a Crew or Staff member know and we’ll be happy to get you the assistance that you require. Please have any music, backing tracks or presentations ready to go on a USB or laptop device.

STAGE SETUP

All stages will be set up with theatre-style seating and equipped with screens unless otherwise noted. Laptops for presentations are not provided, you must bring your own. A full listing of A/V equipment, room capacities and more will be available closer to the show. If you have any questions about tech, please contact [email protected].

TECH CHECKS

The 15-30 minute breaks that we have scheduled before all panels/performances should provide ample time to set up your equipment and start your slot on time. If you feel like you need more time to test your presentation, we have limited availability to schedule tech checks before the show begins. If you would like to schedule a tech check, please contact [email protected]

MARKETING ACTIVITY

Participating at MCM Comic Con is a great opportunity to promote yourself to our wider fan community. We ask that you keep all promotional activity within your designated area i.e. no flyering or selling in aisles, other stands, gangways or the boulevard spaces. Should you wish to promote your presence ahead of the show, please feel free to use MCM branding/logos from our brand pack located here

DELIVERIES & LOGISTICS

Unless arranging alternative plans, anything you need for your scheduled activity will need to be carried in by hand (or compact wheeled suitcase) and be subject to security checks upon entry. Should you require different arrangements, please let your contact know asap.

RECORDING, STREAMING & POPVERSE

Panels may be filmed/recorded for ReedPop and Popverse purposes only. Speakers cannot make requests to have ReedPop film/record their panels. The decision on which panels are filmed is the sole decision of ReedPop and Popverse. Filmed/recorded panels are to be published on the Popverse website, YouTube, and social media pages at its discretion, and some of which may be for paid Popverse members/con digital ticket holders only. Popverse has exclusivity rights of filmed/recorded panels for up to 90 days from the date of the panel.

What is Popverse?

Popverse is a comics + pop culture entertainment website focusing on that delectable media people come to conventions for, with breaking news, expert commentary, and engrossing conversations with people behind the things we all love. Popverse is the exclusive home for filmed panels from New York Comic Con, Emerald City Comic Con, C2E2, MCM Comic Con, and other ReedPop shows. For more information about Popverse, click here.

What is a Popverse Membership?

The paid Popverse Membership is a way for you to turn your living room into the Main Stage or amplify your in-person convention experiences. You can sign up for a Popverse Membership for first access to tickets to our events (like MCM Comic Con and New York Comic Con), photo ops and autographing tickets, and paid digital experiences; exclusive access to video content and celebrity panels, a limited edition gift, and access to exclusive show merchandise online. For the cost of a 1-day live event ticket, your Popverse Membership virtually takes you to every day of ALL four major ReedPop shows.
