Important: Industrial Action and Roadworks

Please be aware of industrial action and rail strikes 1-9 December. Plan ahead in case of disruptions and visit the National Rail website close to your date of travel to review your options. If arriving by car, please note the Eastway Slip Road will be closed as part of the upgrade scheme on the M42 at junction 6 and so we recommend you allow extra time for your journey.

What’s the quickest route? Where do I park? We got you! Follow signs for MCM Comic Con and Hall 3A - 4  when you arrive, and read up travel info below. Here’s everything you need to know on how to get to MCM Birmingham Comic Con at the NEC.

By Train

Direct services run all day to NEC, however if you’re travelling from further afield you may need to catch a connecting train at Birmingham New Street, which is less than a 15-minute journey away. Just enough time to fuel up on caffeine. For more information, visit National Rail or call them on 08457 484950

The ASLEF trade union has called strike action across much of the rail network in early December.

Strike action is expected to take place on 2nd-8th December. There will also be an overtime ban from 1st-9th December which may also impact services. If you were planning to take the train to an NEC event, it is likely there will be some disruption, so please plan ahead and visit the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner close to your date of travel to review your options.

By Bus

From Birmingham Airport you can get to the NEC via the free air-rail link, which takes just 90 seconds and runs every two minutes.

Jumping on a bus in the West Midlands area? There are numerous options that will get you to the NEC. Check out the Network West Midland to plan your journey.

Driving

You’ll find NEC clearly signposted from all motorways and major routes including the M42, M40 and M6 - just pop B40 1NT in your sat nav. When you arrive at the NEC don’t follow your satnav anymore, look out for MCM Comic Con on NEC’s signs. Then, simply jump on our free shuttle bus or take a leisurely stroll along the signposted footpaths.

For those arriving by car, please note the Eastway Slip Road will be closed from 27th November to 7th January as part of the upgrade scheme on the M42 at junction 6. We would encourage visitors travelling to events during this period to allow extra time for their journey.

Hotels
