Family-Friendly Fun this August
From meeting the voices behind favourite characters to live entertainment and hands-on activities, MCM Comic Con Birmingham is the ultimate family day out.
Taking place across three days, the pop culture staple offers far more than celebrity guests - with interactive experiences designed for children, teenagers and parents to enjoy together. Families can spend the day playing the latest games, discovering new hobbies, watching live performances and meeting stars from beloved films, TV shows, anime and gaming.
This year’s Birmingham show is packed with activities designed especially for families, making it an ideal day out for parents looking to entertain children over the summer holidays.
The Treehouse, MCM's dedicated family zone, offers free face painting, arts and crafts, interactive stage entertainment, comic activity sheets and a children's lending library. Young fans can dress up as their favourite characters and take to the stage with the ever-popular Kids Cosplay Showcase, and show off their dance moves with Just Dance for Kids. Families can also make use of the dedicated Family Lounge, offering a quieter space to relax and recharge between adventures.
Children’s publisher Little Tiger will also be running colouring and crafting activities and author events in the Treehouse area all day Friday and Saturday, giving little ones the opportunity to discover books on sale, take part in a lucky dip and get their hands on some freebies.
Better still, it's one of the UK's most affordable family events. Children aged four and under go completely free when accompanied by an adult ticket holder, whilst children aged 5 to 10 can attend for just £7! Whether it's a child's first Comic Con or an annual family tradition, MCM Birmingham offers an unforgettable day of cosplay, creativity, gaming and shared adventures for every generation.
Among this year's guests is actor Khary Payton, best known for Teen Titans, Teen Titans Go!, The Walking Dead and Invincible, who will appear across all three days. Fans of the Marvel universe can also meet Charlie Cox and Deborah Ann Woll, who starred as Matt Murdock and Karen Page in Daredevil. Anime fans can also meet Bryce Papenbrook, whose voice credits include Demon Slayer, Sword Art Online, Attack on Titan and Miraculous.
Families can also enjoy a packed programme of live entertainment throughout the weekend, from the live wrestling matches running across all three days, where visitors can cheer on and meet pro wrestlers taking to the ring, to behind-the-scenes sessions with the voice actors behind hit games including Final Fantasy VII. There will also be live music from Lutebox, performing iconic songs from The Lord of the Rings, The Legend of Zelda and Dungeons & Dragons, alongside the charming Puppet Folk Experience, a live puppet and music show celebrating the magic of classic family entertainment.
Attendees of all ages are welcome, with baby changing facilities, accessible family spaces, a reset room, and plenty of opportunities to take breaks throughout the day - ensuring everyone can enjoy the convention at their own pace.
MCM Comic Con Birmingham takes place at the NEC Birmingham, bringing together the very best of movies, television, gaming, anime, comics and pop culture for one unforgettable family day out. Buy tickets here: https://www.mcmcomiccon.com/birmingham/en-us/tickets.html
