The Immersive Experience

The team at dotdotdot are giving audiences the chance to live through H.G. Wells’ The War of The Worlds Martian invasion of 1898. The revolutionary experience combines Jeff Wayne’s award-winning Musical Version, virtual reality, augmented reality, holograms and other cutting-edge technology. Before the official opening later this month in central London, hear the team and some of the core cast discuss everything from forming the initial idea, to how the multisensory experience has literally come to life.


Lucid the Dreamwalker

Meet the cast and makers of brand new, gritty, supernatural drama, Lucid the Dreamwalker! Set in Birmingham, the series follows the life of Joseph (the Dream Walker) on his journey of self-discovery.

Find out how quidditch – the world’s only full-contact, mixed-gender sport, has led the way in encouraging a more inclusive space, with key leadership figures within the Quidditch Premier League and prominent non-male players in the league on stage.

Jeremy Graves and Andy Hanley take to the stage to dazzle and entertain you with all things Anime Limited, discussing the distributor’s hottest new products on sale at the show, taking you through their plans for forthcoming titles, and of course teasing you with some announcements of brand new acquisitions. 

Special Live D&D with Oxventure

Outside Xbox and Xtra come to MCM London for the first time! Spin-off Dungeons & Dragons series Oxventure charts the adventures of the team’s brave-ish heroes. You know them as Corazon, Dob, Egbert, Merilwen and Prudence. Long-suffering Dungeon Master Johnny Chiodini knows them as a bloody nightmare.




MCM’s Sneak Peeks

10:00 – 10:15

Get the chance to have a first look at upcoming releases with the new MCM’s Sneak Peeks, including a personal message to MCM fans from the one and only Mark Hamill.

Filmmaker Lea Winchcombe gives MCM fans an exclusive first look at his thought provoking documentary, Beyond Lyrics, featuring Trevor Dion Nicolas, star of the Disney London’s West End production of Aladdin. In Beyond Lyrics, Trevor shares with us his heartfelt personal views of the black community in entertainment. Join Trevor and director Lea on the Centre Stage for a Q&A session and live music from alternative indie rock band, Neighborhood Goliath.


Doctor Who: The Next Dimension

12:30 – 13:15

Doctor Who is going into an entirely new dimension with VR adventure The Edge of Time, starring Jodie Whittaker. The creators at VR developer Maze Theory take to the stage to discuss the making of the interactive adventure and to tease what fans can expect from a game that will put them into the world of Doctor Who.

Anime Guest of Honour:

All The Anime welcomes their Guest of Honour Yuichiro Hayashi to take the stage at MCM, discussing his roles as series director, storyboard artist and episode director over the years, among his involvement in major anime productions.

Ever heard of Tom Holland? Well, Spider-Man’s comedian dad Dominic Holland tells the real superhero story of how a kid dances his way from London’s West End all the way to Hollywood and overtakes his ‘celebrity’ dad on his way.

Screening of Kizumonogatari: Tekketsu

Kizumonogatari: Tekketsu is the first of a trilogy of anime movies that serves as a set-up and prequel to Bakemonogatari and all the Monogatari series. On an evening, second year high school student Koyomi Aragi saves the life of the infamous vampire Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade and by doing so turns into a vampire himself. And thus the journey to recover his humanity begins. (Please note: this film has a 15 rating)
