We’re thrilled to announced that the Anime Guest of Honour at this month’s MCM London Comic Con is none other than acclaimed author and anime screenwriter Shouji Gatou, best known as the creator of the fan favourite Full Metal Panic! franchise.

As well as writing the light novels that the Full Metal Panic! anime series are based on, Gatou has taken an active hand in the action comedy’s on-screen adaptations – most recently scripting long-awaited fourth season Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory. Produced by animation studio Xebec, Invisible Victory is currently airing in the UK on Crunchyroll.

Tokyo-born Gatou also worked on the adaptation of his Amagi Brilliant Park series of novels, which garnered an anime series back in 2014. He has also acted as scriptwriter on fellow Kyoto Animation shows Lucky Star, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and slice-of-life mystery drama Hyouka. Other anime credits include studio Gonzo fantasy adventure The Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk and its 2009 sequel The Sword of Uruk.

In addition to meeting fans and signing autographs, Shouji Gatou will be taking part in Q&A sessions following screenings of the first episode of Invisible Victory.
