Sherilyn Fenn, famous for playing Audrey Horne in cult ’90s TV series Twin Peaks and last year’s long-awaited sequel Twin Peaks: The Return, is the first special guest announced for November’s edition of MCM Birmingham Comic Con.
While Fenn has an eclectic array of TV and film credits to her name, from Gilmore Girls and Shameless to Wild at Heart and the controversial Boxing Helena, the Detroit-born actor is best known for her Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated performance as Audrey Horne in David Lynch and Mark Frost’s surreal, genre-defying detective drama Twin Peaks, widely considered to be one of the greatest television series of all time.
Sherilyn Fenn’s character Audrey is an 18-year-old femme fatale who falls for series protagonist Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan). Discovering that her business magnate dad was the lover of murdered homecoming queen Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee), Audrey attempts to investigate the killing by infiltrating a Canadian brothel, One-Eyed Jack’s.
Set 25 years after the events of the first two series, the recent Twin Peaks: The Return sees Fenn reprise her role as Audrey, whom we discover is trapped in an unhappy marriage to a milquetoast man named Charlie and is trying to reconnect with her former lover Billy. This being Twin Peaks, things naturally aren’t as straightforward as they might seem…
