The rangers just powered up at Scotland Comic Con, with the news that Mighty Morphin Power Rangers stars Walter Jones and David Yost are to join Red Ranger Austin St. John and Yellow Ranger Karan Ashley as special guests at September’s SECC show.
Walter Jones was the quick-witted Zack Taylor, the original Black Ranger, in the first 82 episodes of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Fun-loving and spontaneous, Zack was one of the coolest fighters on the team, incorporating dance moves into his martial arts and wielding a power axe that doubled up as a laser gun. Walter returned to guest star as the voice of Nightmare in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy and as the villainous Gerrok in an episode of Power Rangers: Wild Force.
David Yost played scientific whizzkid Billy Cranston, better known as the Blue Ranger, in more than 200 episodes of the iconic ’90s show. Starting out as a stereotypical nerd – a super smart inventor but not so hot in a scrap – Billy’s fighting skills levelled up as the show progressed; by the third season, he was capable of beating monsters solo! Yost also starred in sequel Power Rangers Zeo and 1995 film adaptation, Power Rangers: The Movie.
