Star Wars Rebels’ immensely popular four-season run may have just reached its grand finale, but the news that one of the animated show’s main stars, Taylor Gray, will be joining us at May’s MCM London should help you get over your Rebel withdrawal!
The epic CG animated story of the Rebellion’s beginnings, Star Wars Rebels saw Taylor Gray play the central role of Ezra Bridger, a teenage street urchin and con-artist who joins the motley crew of the Ghost and learns the ways of the Force from Kanan Jarrus.
Thrown out onto the streets of his home planet Lothal on his seventh birthday after his parents were arrested for opposing the Empire, Taylor’s character initially displays a cynical and uncaring streak. His time aboard the Ghost soon draws out his heroic side, however, with Ezra often risking everything to protect his friends …although tragedy continues to dog his footsteps and tempts him to the Dark Side more than once.
Set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, the award-winning Star Wars Rebels premiered with an hour-long TV special in 2014 and ran for four hugely successful seasons before airing its final episode on 5 March 2018. Taylor Gray voiced the street-smart Ezra throughout the show’s lifespan, having joined the Star Wars Rebels cast following his starring role in teen sitcom Bucket & Skinner’s Epic Adventures.
