    Sunday Times bestselling author Simon Scarrow and his former student turned writing partner, Lee Francis, discuss what makes a best seller. A regular on the Sunday Times bestseller list with his historical novels, Simon has launched an exciting new strand to his writing with Playing with Death written with Lee: both an edge-of-your-seat thriller and a terrifying exploration of the dangers of the modern world. Simon and Lee will discuss how they work together, how they came up with the idea behind Playing with Death, and what it is like for Lee (a debut author) to be working with an established name

  • 4pm – How to become a Jedi

    It’s the age-old question; how much to show and how much to leave to the readers imagination.  Some readers and writers prefer it up front and in your face while others prefer just a hint or suggestion.  Listen as authors Shaun Hutson, Nate Crowley, James Brogden and Jason Arnopp talk about the approach to violence and gore in their work and they approach they prefer in both their reading and viewing habits.

    While Grimdark is still an extremely popular sub-genre within fantasy, another sub-genre is starting to make a major comeback; epic fantasy. Sprawling sagas of heroes and villains and quests that never end, Epic Fantasy is enjoying a resurgence and authors Ed Cox, Stephen Aryan, RJ Barker and Lucy Hounsom are here to tell us why.
